It is a construction of small dimensions and great constructive simplicity, and nevertheless, during its long life it has been a fundamental piece in the way of life of the people of the village. Normally it was used by two neighbors at the same time, for which one of them marked the bread with a cross to recognize it once the baking was finished. On other occasions it could happen that more than two neighbors participated in order to fill the oven and thus make the firewood for each baking profitable. In order to recognize the bread, each neighbor had a private stamp that was stamped on the bread before baking.
The care and cleaning of the oven was the responsibility of the neighbors, who in addition to whitewashing it at least once a year and cleaning it daily, brought firewood from the nearest field.
