The Geological-Mining Museum of Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo is located in La Yutera, a large industrial building of more than 10,000 m² built in the early twentieth century and located in the industrial estate La Papelera.
Inaugurated in 1996, the museum offers an interesting journey through the geological history of Spain and, in particular, the Guadiato basin, a territory deeply marked by mining. Its collection gathers minerals, rocks, fossils and tools used in the extraction works, allowing to understand the geological, mining and industrial importance of the region.
The visit is an excellent opportunity to learn about the mineral origin of the landscape, the evolution of mining activity and the role that Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo played in the industrial development of northern Córdoba.
