High Chambers Station

  • Belmez

The Cámaras Altas area is formed by a series of rock massifs composed mainly of quartzite and sandstone, with strata between 10 and 220 cm thick. In some sections, the lateral continuity of the strata is lost. This geological site is crossed by the old Peñarroya-Puertollano narrow-gauge railroad, which adds historical value to the area. In addition, trenches excavated in quartzite can be observed to the north of Cámaras Altas, probably vestiges of the Civil War or of old defensive systems.

The combination of its geological richness, historical remains and its access through old railway roads make this place an excellent destination for lovers of hiking, geology and historical tourism, offering a unique view of the Alto Guadiato.
