The Fiesta de la Trasiega de Villanueva del Rey is a celebration dedicated to recovering and promoting one of the most deeply rooted winemaking traditions of the municipality: the artisanal production of pitarra wine. This event combines gastronomy, traditional trades, local products and festive atmosphere, making it a perfect experience to discover the rural essence of the Guadiato Valley.

During the day, visitors can enjoy demonstrations and stalls dedicated to the homemade production of quince jelly, the sale and tasting of honey, artisan bread baking and the process of making pitarra wine. Other popular knowledge is also present, such as the natural manufacture of soda soap, the elaboration of baskets and traditional utensils, or the preparation of typical recipes such as pestiños, hojuelas, roscos, muffins and homemade cakes.

More than a gastronomic fair, the Fiesta de la Trasiega is a tribute to the agricultural and artisan memory of Villanueva del Rey. An opportunity to taste traditional products, learn about old trades and share a day of conviviality around local traditions.
