Figueres is connected to the territory by several hiking routes.
There is the Itinnerània network of footpaths and the Way of St. James (which crosses the county from La Jonquera to Girona). These in turn link up with other networks such as the Pirinexus and the GR (long-distance footpaths).
Moreover, within the city, the main healthy circuit is the one around the Castle of Sant Ferran, which allows you to admire this spectacular monument while at the same time providing a splendid view over the Empordà plain.
