In 1916, the Teatre Cinema El Jardí was inaugurated in Figueres, specifically on April 29, during the Fairs and Festivities of Santa Creu, with the opera La Gioconda, performed by the Company of the Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona. The driving force behind the construction of the building was the businessman Pau Pagès, who in 1915 requested authorization from the Figueres City Council to build a theater-cinema in what was then Horta de Gayolà, today known as Plaça de Josep Pla.

The Capuchin Auditorium, with a capacity for 202 people, is a new space that began its activity in the spring of 2015, after the rehabilitation of what had been the former Capuchin convent.
The former Capuchin convent is a building listed in the Special Building Protection Plan of Figueres. The convent was restored in order to be used for cultural purposes, especially as an auditorium for concerts and medium-sized cultural activities.

La Cate is a cultural entity founded in 1921, therefore centenary, which was born under the name of the Patronat de La Catequística. Our priority is to bring culture closer to the greatest number of people possible, both in the city of Figueres and throughout the region. In short, to anyone who lives in love with culture, theater, music or cinema. We try to weave partnerships and collaborations with other cultural actors in the city, becoming a true hotel of entities that welcomes a good variety of associations from various social and cultural areas.

Located on a hill, at the end of the Castle climb, it is a large fortified fortress built during the 18th century following the project of the commander of the Corps of Engineers Juan Martín Zermeño. It occupies an area of 32 hectares with a perimeter of 3,120 meters, and the cisterns, located under the parade ground, can hold 9 million liters of water. The castle of Sant Ferran, which had a capacity for 4,000 men, currently constitutes a first-class heritage legacy, the largest monument in Catalonia and the largest modern fortress in Europe.
